Friday Forts at PEEC. Children can go to PEEC after school with their parents and build forts with other children until dark. Free, but parents must supervise children. No registration required.
Saturday
Bosque del Apache beginner birder’s trip. Three birding experts lead this guided tour of the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge south of Albuquerque. The cost is $20 for adults or $10 for adults that bring a youth ages 8-14. Register at PajaritoEEC.org or call 662-0460.

Sustainable Los Alamos Series: Talk by Tom Nagawiecki at PEEC. Learn sustainable actions you can take to reduce waste in Los Alamos County as well as facts about what is thrown away. 7 p.m. Free.

Join Pajarito Environmental Education Center and the Reel Deal for the New Mexico showing of 2012’s Backcountry Film Festival. The festival shows short films about human-powered snow sports, with a variety of scenery. 7 p.m. at the Reel Deal, $10 at the door.

Individuals and volunteers interested in helping to plan a safe, fun-filled, drug free, all-night celebration for Los Alamos High School and home school graduating seniors are invited to a Senior Appreciation Night planning meeting from 1–2 p.m. at the Aquatic Center Training Room, 2760 Canyon Road.
