Something and someone exciting is coming to Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church (TOTH). The local chapter of the Order of St. Luke, an international, interdenominational organization dedicated to the Christian healing ministry, will present a Healing and Teaching Weekend Feb. 19–20. The presenter of “The Fresh Wind of the Spirit” conference is the Rev. Mike Flynn from Camarillo, Calif.
Rev. Flynn will present five powerful teachings on the power of the Holy Spirit, such as practicing the presence of the Holy Spirit in worship and in ministry, practicing hearing God’s voice, learning to collaborate with the Spirit and collaborating with the power of the Spirit in healing.
TOTH’s Deacon Diane Figge, the event coordinator said, “getting the chance to see Mike is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is rare that our community is able to bring in such a renowned speaker, and we want everyone to be able to take advantage of it.” TOTH’s Rev. Louise Weiss said, “I have heard Mike Flynn and know him personally. I have always been transformed, well educated and thoroughly uplifted by his teachings. I am really, really happy to be able to bring him here. Anybody who hears him learns something and enjoys themselves thoroughly — I think he’s fantastic!”
Rev. Flynn is a graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of the South, where he obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in divinity. He founded FreshWind Ministries and has written numerous articles and five books: “Holy Vulnerability,” “Inner Healing,” “The Mustard Seed Book,” “Making Disciples” and “How To Be Good without Really Trying.”
The entire community is invited to attend this weekend program which begins at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 19 and at 8 a.m. Feb. 20. The $60 registration fee includes dinner on Feb. 19 and breakfast and lunch on Feb. 20.
Figge said she encourages everyone to come to the weekend and let their life be touched by the Holy Spirit.
In addition to sound Biblical teaching and healing, the weekend will feature special worship services, fellowship and a book table hosted by Good Books New Mexico. Please call the church office at 662-5107 to register, or contact Deacon Diane Figge at 412-5063 for further information.
