Both home doubleheaders for the Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball and softball teams were no-goes Saturday.

Because of the snow on the ground in Los Alamos and White Rock Saturday morning, the Hilltopper District 2AAAA doubleheaders with Taos were scrubbed.

Los Alamos High School announced both the doubleheaders will be played Monday. Both doubleheaders will start at 3 p.m.

For the Hilltopper baseball team, this is the second time a scheduled meeting with Taos’ Tigers has been postponed. The Hilltoppers were set to play a single game at Taos April 1 to open the 2AAAA season, but that game was postponed due to snow.

That same day, just a few miles away, however, the Hilltopper-Tiger softball game went on as scheduled, with the Hilltoppers winning big, 21-1 in a four-inning contest.

Los Alamos’ softball team is currently in second in the district standings, half a game behind Española Valley. The Hilltopper baseball team is also in second place behind district-leading Bernalillo.
