The Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball team improved to 4-0 on the District 2-4A season, outlasting the Española Valley Sundevils at home Wednesday.
Los Alamos and Española Valley both put up robust run totals Wednesday, but Los Alamos prevailed 16-10 at Bomber Field.
The win was the fifth in six outings for Los Alamos, which, now one-third of the way through the 2-4A season, is sitting alone atop the district, two full games over its nearest competitor.
Los Alamos (7-9 overall) scored 16 runs for the third straight game. Saturday, it swept Santa Fe on the road by scores of 16-2 and 16-0.
This Saturday, the Hilltoppers will have a chance to complete the first half of the 2-4A season with a perfect 6-0 mark. They host the struggling Capital Jaguars, who are 0-2 on the district season and have won just one game in 2011.
