Baseball team falls 7-6 in St. Pius opening round

The Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball team dropped its opening round game of the St. Pius X Invitational to El Paso, Texas.
Los Alamos (1-3) was nipped by El Paso 7-6 in the first round and drops into the consolation round of the tournament. The St. Pius Invitational continues through Saturday.
Of the four first round tournament games, only St. Pius’ 8-0 victory over Bernalillo wasn’t decided by one run. Socorro (Texas) defeated Los Lunas 8-7 and Centennial topped Manzano 5-4.
