Sun Sticks and Mud: 1000 Years of Earth Building in the Desert Southwest is a fascinating look at earthen architecture in New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Utah and       California and is peppered with more than 400 photographs....The authors divided the text into two sections. First is the central  storytelling about the architecture and its history and locales. About the Authors:
Bart Kaltenbach has spent 50 years in architecture and building construction. His involvement in crafting energy efficient buildings through the  design/build format has been an important part of his work in design, construction and education.

Barbara Anschel, researcher and editor, is responsible for many of the book’s secondary photographs. She has a Masters in Education with focus on integrating technology in education.

Steve Fitch, principal photographer for the book,is a professor at The Santa Fe University of Art and Design and fine art photographer.
