Longtime business partners Margaret Ansell and Rick Reiss welcome the community to visit their new mortgage company, LA Solutions, LLC, at 2101 Trinity Drive, Suite F.

The team launches its new company on the heels of successful joint and individual endeavors such as the 999 Central Building, occupied by LATA on Central Avenue at 9th Street, the 18-acre Entrada Business Park on East Road and a recently approved Holiday Inn Express project near the airport.

LA Solutions provides permanent financing for first mortgage loans, second mortgage and home equity lines of credit as well as lot and interim construction financing.

“Because we have lenders from across the country, we can offer products not always available through banks, such as Guaranteed Rural Housing loans,” Reiss said, adding that GRH loans are guaranteed by the U.S Department of Agricultural and provide 100-percent financing. “When one mortgage is better than another, service is the key.”

Ansell agreed, adding that GRH loans can be a great option for first-time homebuyers. “Any time you get a renter into their own home it starts the domino effect of helping the economy of our community.”

Ansell became involved in mortgage and finance in 1980 and Reiss in 1987.

“It’s in my blood,” Ansell said. “I get a lot of satisfaction out of helping people and particularly first-time homebuyers purchase a home.”

LA Solutions’ access to such a wide variety of lenders allows the company to find its clients the best program to fit their needs, she said, and after closing, LA Solutions remains the local contact if further assistance is ever needed.

Reiss is in the mortgage and financial industry, he said, because he enjoys making the otherwise complicated mortgage process simple for buyers.

“We do this every day, whereas most people do this once, twice or maybe three times in a lifetime,” he said.

Reiss and Ansell first met in 1996 when he was an owner of Mountain Community Bank and he hired her as a mortgage loan officer.

She left the bank in 1999 to open Intermountain Mortgage, where Reiss joined her in 2000. Ansell sold Intermountain Mortgage in September and she and Reiss opened LA Solutions in May.

The company’s mission, Reiss said, is to provide the same high-level service for mortgages that he and Ansell have provided their clients in Los Alamos during the last 12 years.

Both Reiss and Ansell expressed delight that long-time Los Alamos resident and mortgage expert, Sally Nolan, has joined their company as a loan officer.

They also praised area Realtors and thanked them for their support over the years and expressed appreciation for their immediate support of LA Solutions.

Reiss and Ansell also expressed appreciation to their spouses for their many years of support: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Debbie and Gerry, our ‘silent partners,’ for all their help and encouragement - Without their support we could not continue our endeavors.”

Reiss and wife Debbie married in 1976 in Silver City. They moved to Los Alamos in 1993 and have two children.

Ansell and husband Gerry married in 1960 in England, moved to Los Alamos in 1996, and have four children and five grandchildren.
