Don and Mary Lou Keigher are celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary on March 2 at their home in Aspen Ridge Lodge, where they recently moved. In 2012, they are also celebrated their 40th year living in Los Alamos.
Don and Mary Lou were married March 2, 1946, in LaJolla, Calif., where Don served in the Navy. In 1953, their young family moved to Richland,Wash., where Don was a fire protection engineer with the Atomic Energy Commission until 1969. After three years in Washington, D.C., they moved west again to White Rock.
They both were employed at LANL until their retirements in1985. They have been active in Rotary Club, the Los Alamos Historical Museum, the Betty Earhart Senior Center and the IHM Catholic Parish. In 1995, they moved into the new condo building at 1001 Oppenheimer Place downtown, where they have enjoyed many dear friends and wonderful neighbors.
Mary Lou says that, “One of the pleasant surprises of moving to Aspen Ridge, an assisted living facility, has been to rediscover so many other friends we thought had moved away, who are still here!” Both old friends and new ones gathered from so many different walks of life, over those wondrous 40 years.
All our love on this very special day, Kira, Kathleen, Aaron, Sharon, Sheila and Charlie.
