Animal Shelter 01-16-11

-A A +A

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 662-8179, has a great selection of on-site adoptable pets; others are in foster care with loving, temporary homes.
All of our fully reconditioned adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, have their shots and are micro-chipped.
Be sure to check out links to our many pets at the Friends of the Shelter Web site: www.lafos.org. You can also volunteer or make a donation.
Every cat is only
$35 with an extended two-for-one sale.
Our overstock is your savings. Adopt one kitty for $35 and if you can find room in your home and heart, adopt a second pussycat free.
Cali — A DLH, spayed female, senior Calico. Owner now lives in Sombrillo. Cali is healthy.
Daisy — Seven year old spayed female. Gets along with adults, gentle children and gentle dogs. Would prefer her own litter box.
Duck — Nice black kitty that loves to play and be brushed.
Eve — Very special DLH declawed, spayed female. So traumatized by being on her own, shelter staff has had to work hard to coax her out. She will now allow people to pet her and might even sit on a lap.
Gidget — Spayed, 12 year old domestic short-hair Tortie. Family had to move so she was surrendered with companion cat Samantha. Gidget is OK with cats, dogs and kids.
Missy — Is a four year old spayed female American Domestic Tabby.
Necko — Sweet, young black spayed female. Likes attention.
Percey — DSH spayed female, four years old. Good with kids.
Samantha — DSH muted Tortie. Spayed, four years old. OK with dogs and kids.
Scarlett — Six year old declawed Calico. Healthy, quiet, well-behaved.
Scribbles — Eight year old, declawed Calico. Quiet, healthy, well-behaved.
Barney — The sweet little neutered male Pit-mix is coming back because owners have allergies. He’s a bundle of energy and loves people and other dogs.
Flopsy — Young, blond female shepherd mix found on N.M.. 502, appropriately named for floppy ear. Not aggressive but is a little unsure of herself. Needs a quiet, patient home.
Jack — Adult black male Lab-mix. He was found roaming in White Rock. His owners have not claimed him. He will visit the vet and be neutered this week. He’s a friendly boy but is cautious about children. He’d be best in a home with no small children.

In foster care and featured:  Unless otherwise noted, call 412-3451 to inquire about these fine pets.
