Margaret F. Anderson died June 6, 2008 after a short illness. She was bon in Middletown, N.Y., Aug. 8, 1929 to Olin B. Fellows and Margaret Smith, her mother died a few days later. Margaret grew up in Middletown. She received a BA in mathematics from Goucher College in 1951 and came to Los Alamos in 1953 where she met Richard C. Anderson. They were married June 19, 1954. Except for four years in Virginia, they have lived in Los Alamos ever since.Margaret worked twice for the laboratory, first in the old Group T-1 and, after the children were grown, in C-Division. She has led a Girl Scout troop, volunteered at Bandelier and worked in the Lobby Shop at the hospital. She was a member of the United Church of Los Alamos.Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her stepmother Hilda W. Ogden, her brother Olin B. Fellows Jr. and her stepsister Jean MacDonald. She is survived by Richard, her husband of almost 54 years, her stepbrother Blake W. Ogden of Cincinnati, and her three children Carolyn Fink (husband Dan) of Sandy, Oregon, Edith Wilcox (husband Michael) of Manhattan, Kansas, and Stephen Anderson (wife Nancy) of Rio Rancho. There are nine grandchildren: Heather and Nathan Fink, Allison, Rachel, Joshua, Samuel and Grace Wilcox, and Colter and Logan Anderson.There will be a memorial service at the United Church of Los Alamos Wednesday, June 11 at 10 a.m. The family would appreciate any contributions to the Hospital Auxiliary, The Friends of Bandelier, or the United Church Memorial Fund.
