Patton – Almeda Inez Gibson Patton, 68, died Wednesday, June 10, 2008. Her home was in Durant, Okla. She was born in Lakeview, Texas, Jan. 10, 1940, to Phillip Musgrove & Inez (Messer) Gibson, now deceased. She married Donald DeWayne Patton Dec. 20, 1958. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Patton enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and Bible study. Almeda worked for Jafra Sales as a representative, and as an election official. She was a member of the Dudes and Dolls Square Dance Club and Texoma Squares. Almeda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Durant, and she volunteered for the First Baptist Church Clothes Closet, Sunday School Teacher and GA Leader.

Mrs. Patton is survived by her husband Donald of Durant, Okla.; son Donald Jr. of Bedford, Texas; daughters Inez Wallace (husband Joel) of Troy, Texas, and Rebecca Patton of Fort Worth, Texas; brother Darrell Gibson Pampa, Texas; grandsons Keith and Nathan Wallace of Troy, Texas; sisters Mary Belle Bednorz of Panhandle, Texas, and Margaret Diane Gibson of Amarillo, Texas; aunts, Mary Baten of Pampa, Texas, and Bertha Holder of Amarillo, Texas; Mrytle and Rudy Verden of Wheeler, Texas; step-sisters, Adella Woods of Mesquite, Texas, and Pat Vineyard of Amarillo, Texas; step-brother, Charlie Vineyard of Glen Rose, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Inez Gibson, and her older brother, Alan Gibson.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Friday June 13, 2008, at the First Baptist Church, Durant, Okla. The Rev. James Robinson and Rev. E. J. Bradshaw will officiate and internment will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Patton, Michael Patton, II., Gary Pomrenke, Thomas Frazier, Cecil Potter, Alfred Wheeler, R. D. Parker and Bill McGee.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday June 12, 2008, at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideon Bibles or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
