Alita M. Roach, 82, a resident of White Rock passed away on Jan. 6.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1929 in St. Louis Mo. Alita was the only daughter of Marie Krueger and Aloysius Wunderle, she was affectionately referred to as “Snooze” by her father who thought she slept too much. At the age of 18, she began her working career as a lingerie buyer for Famous Barr. Alita married Frederick “Freddie” Roach on Dec. 31, 1954 and they began their home in Los Alamos. On May 15, 1955 Alita began working for Los Alamos National Laboratory and retired in 2004. Alita enjoyed her role at LANL and was committed to LANL’s administrative efficiencies.
