Jamie Romack went 3-for-3 as the Albuquerque Isotopes got back on the winning track Wednesday night.
Romack, the Isotopes right fielder, had a home run and drove in a pair of runs as the Isotopes topped the Sacramento River Cats 8-4 in the opener of their series Wednesday.
The Isotopes scored three times in the third inning and three more times in the seventh to put the contest away. The win was a much-needed one for the Isotopes (16-16) after being swept at home by Fresno May 2-5.
Albuquerque finished with 12 hits off four Sacramento pitchers. Along with Romack’s big night, left fielder Mike Baxter went 2-for-4 with a double, while second baseman Alex Guerrero was 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice.
This series with Sacramento is the third series in a row at home for Albuquerque. It continues through Friday.
