ROMERO – Adrian Jordan Romero, age 16, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, after battling cancer for three years. He was a student at Los Alamos High School.
Adrian is best known for his sharp wit and sense of humor. He always had a pun or wisecrack ready. He made people laugh, and he loved life. He was always cheerful and never had an unkind thing to say. One of his teachers said, “That boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.”
His greatest love was his ferrets. He loved animals, especially ferrets and cats. He also really enjoyed Renaissance Festivals. He and his mother and sister had ornate costumes that they would wear to festivals in the summer. Adrian was proud of his collection of swords and always wanted more to add to the collection.
His other interests were chess, YuGiOh cards, Star Trek shows, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter novels. He collected YuGiOh cards and traveled where he could to play in tournaments. He watched every Star Trek show except the original series. He read every Star Wars novel he could find, and he had read Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter series. He even went to England for his Wish Trip to visit the sites where the Harry Potter films were done. He played Star Wars online extensively and had become a very good player. He was also a fairly good self-taught chess player.
