Cha Cha the night away

  Come take Cha Cha dance lessons from Bob and Sally Nolen from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at the Christian Church. The class costs $25 per person for six weeks.  There will not be lessons between Christmas and New Years. Call 231-8952 for more information.

Learn the Quickstep

  Beginning Quickstep lessons will be offered at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the Unitarian Church.  No partner is required. The cost is $5  per lesson or $12 for all three. There will be no lesson Dec. 24 or Dec. 31. Contact robpelak@los-alamos.net.

Help Lindsey Jacobs

  To help cover expenses for Lindsey Jacobs’ lengthy inpatient rehabilitation, donations are being accepted for the “Lindsey Jacobs Medical Fund” at Los Alamos National Bank.  Jacobs, a 2009 Los Alamos High School graduate, was severely injured in an automobile accident in Oregon. She is recovering but requires a lengthy inpatient rehabilitation.

Earth Treasures Show

  The Geological Society Earth Treasures Show will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. today at the Masonic Temple, located at 15 Canyon View.

North Pole Workshop

  North Pole Workshop will be held from 5 -7 p.m. today at the Sheriff’s Posse Lodge.

Take the luminaria walk

  The Ninth Annual Luminaria Walk will take place from 5–7 p.m. today at the stables on North Mesa.

Christmas lunch

  Chapter BC, P.E.O. will meet for a Christmas lunch at the home of Linda Hardie, 15 Bonito Place on Barranca Mesa. It is a non-officer potluck and will take place at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. If you have any questions or regrets, please call Linda at 662-6620.

Winter Dance Show

  Los Alamos High School dance program will present a Winter Dance Show at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Griffith Gym. A variety of performances by LAHS Ballroom Dance students, LAHS cheerleaders and high school students representing New Mexico Dance Theater, Dance Arts Los Alamos and elementary students from Los Alamos Swing Dancing Club will be in the show. Admission is free.
