Get a copy of Bun Ryan’s book
Bun Ryan will sign copies of his book, “My Cat-Skills,” from 1- 6 p.m. today and from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at Daniel’s Café. The restaurant will serve up Bun Ryan’s Own Irish Stew and free ice cream scoops for children. In the book, Ryan’s cat, Big-A-Boy, is a large orange cat that relates to him an adult slice of life about family, friends and surroundings. Proceeds from the book sales will go to Felines & Friends for cat and dog rescue and placement.
Catch the “Nutcracker”
Dance Arts Los Alamos will present its production of “The Nutcracker.” The ballet will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Duane Smith Auditorium. Admission is $8 for children age 12 and younger, $10 for students and seniors and $12 for adults. To purchase tickets, go to the DALA studio, CB Fox, Smith’s Food and Drug in White Rock or at the box office.
Another chance to see the Créches
The 16th Annual Creches from Around the World display will be held from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1967 18th St. in Los Alamos.
The Children’s Christmas Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church. Children from kindergarten through sixth grade can shop for gifts for family and friends.
Arts and crafts fair Saturday
The Ladies Auxiliary Arts and Craft Fair has been scheduled to be held from 9-5 p.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Hall. Tables are still available at a cost of $25. Santa Claus will visit during the fair to have his photo taken with families. Each family will be given 15 minutes to take their own photos privately with Santa for a $5 donation. A volunteer will be available to take some photos with the family camera if needed.
Catch the Holiday light parade
Winterfest will be happening all around town all day on Dec. 5 with the Holiday Light Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday and the Los Alamos Big Band performing at 7:15 p.m. at Fuller Lodge.
Affordable Art sale
The grand opening for the Art Center at Fuller Lodge’s Affordable Art sale will be held from 10 a.m. till the Parade of Lights begin at 6 p.m. Saturday. Hot cider and home-made cookies will be served. The art sale runs through Jan. 2.
