Roll out the red carpet
The Reel Deal Movie Theater is rolling out the red carpet for the stars of the movie, “Brothers,” or at least the local stars. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the theater. Those who wear formal attire will get preferred seating and the first 50 people will be able to enter a drawing to win free movie tickets and other prizes.
Two hundred Los Alamos residents were extras in the movie and viewers will be able to see several local sites in the film including a house on Chamisa Street, the United Church of Los Alamos, the Los Alamos County Airport, Los Alamos County Ice Rink and Ashley Pond.

Uli’s Cottontails will continue its 25th anniversary celebration with its traditional holiday fashion show at 6:30 p.m. tonight at 800 Trinity Drive. Refreshments will be served. Call 662-4558 for more information.
“Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”
Mesa Public Library Free Film Series screens “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the upstairs meeting rooms.
Christmas Pops Concert
Coro de Camara will perform a “Pops Christmas Choral Concert” at 7 p.m. Friday at Fuller Lodge.
The Nutcracker starts Friday
Dance Arts Los Alamos will kick off its production of “The Nutcracker.” The ballet will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Duane Smith Auditorium. Admission is $8 for children age 12 and younger, $10 for students and seniors and $12 for adults. To purchase tickets, go to the DALA studio, CB Fox, Smith’s Food and Drug in White Rock or at the auditorium box office.
Créches from around the world
The 16th Annual Créches from Around the World display will be held from 1-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1967 18th St. in Los Alamos.
