Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.,” with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, based on the book by Doug Wright, will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 and 2 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Duane Smith Auditorium. Admission is free.

Sunday

 St. Dimitri church members are preparing thousands of cookies, baklava, biscochitos and other goodies for its annual International Holiday Cookie Sale. This year, not only will the traditional boxed sets be available for $23.50, but also optional gift boxed sets of New Mexico biscochitos, Italian biscotti and Russian teacakes will be available. The Los Alamos Arts Council will sponsor a  “Holiday Music Extravaganza” featuring two hours of choral music, solos, skits, audience carol sing-along by all of the five Los Alamos Middle School and high school choirs at 2 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. The program is free with donations to go toward travel expenses to compete at the state competitions in March.

Monday

Los Alamos High School Dance students invite the public to the Winter Dance Show at 7 p.m. in the Duane Smith Auditorium. Expect to see variety of dance performances by LAHS students and guests. Admission is free.

The Juvenile Justice Advisory Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. at Pajarito Cliffs Site, Building 1, Camino Entrada.

Dec. 22

The Los Alamos Little Theatre hosts “The Truth About Santa,” (PG-13) a melodrama about troubles at the North Pole, performed by the Southwest Rural Theatre Project. The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation.

Dec. 24

There will be a living nativity staged in the United Church parking lot at 5 p.m. Greet the holy family, the shepards and kings and pet the stable animals. There will also be a candlelight service at 4 p.m. and one at 11 p.m. with the Christmas choir and communion will be served.
