Catch the dive-in movie

  The Los Alamos County Recreation Division Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center will screen, “The Haunting in Connecticut,” on Nov. 13 at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.

  The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Only teenagers age 13 or older will be admitted. The movie begins at 7 p.m. on the 10-by-

19-foot-tall poolside screen and in the classroom on the 37- inch flat screen TV. Popcorn and refreshments will be available for all. Bring an inflatable air mattress or rings.   

  Purchase tickets in advance for $6 at the aquatic center’s front counter. To maximize safety only 125 tickets are available.

  Tickets will be on sale until 6 p.m. Tuesday. For more information, call Leeanne Sanchez at 662-8170.

Thanksgiving pre-feast swim

  The Los Alamos County Recreation Division presents the Annual Thanksgiving Day Pre-Feast Lap Swim at the Larry R Walkup Aquatic Center from 7-9 a.m.

Nov. 26. Did You Know, the average person consumes 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving Day?           

  Start the holiday off on the right foot by getting an exercise session in before the Thanksgiving Day Feast. The Aquatic Center will be opened for lap swimming Thanksgiving Day, providing 50 swimmers purchase their tickets by 5 p.m. Nov. 23. Advance purchased tickets are required for Pre-Feast lap swim. They cost $7.   

  The Aquatic Center will be closed after the Pre-Feast Lap Swim and closed Nov. 27.  Regular hours resume on Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. with Warm Water Weekend.

School board meeting

Los Alamos Public Schools will hold a regular school board meeting at

6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the District Boardroom at

751 Trinity Drive. The meeting is open to the public.

Joint meeting set for Thursday

Los Alamos County Council and the Los Alamos Board of Education will hold a joint meeting at

7 p.m. Thursday in Council Chambers at 20th and Central Avenue to approve the Trinity Development agreements. The meeting is open to the public.
