Parks and Rec. meeting tonight
The Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the training room at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.
Take the Arts Stroll Friday
Artists Melissa Bartlett, Allen Brown, Karen Wray, David Trujillo, Fran Stoval and Ellen Randall are unveiling their art to the public during the “Christmas Present” Arts Stroll from 5-8 p.m. Friday. The community can view their work at Karen Wray Fine Art-Gallery and Studio, located at 2101 Trinity Drive, Suite B-2, Fran Stoval Fine Art Gallery and Studio, at 650 Canyon Road and the Randall’s studio at 380 Canyon Road.
Clear the Lobby this weekend
Clear the Lobby Weekend will be held Friday through Sunday at the Mesa Public Library. All books, CDs and videos in the lobby area in front of the Friends of Mesa Public Library Bookstore are free.
LAYL bakesale Saturday
The Los Alamos Youth Leadership (LAYL), DST team will host a fundraising bake sale at the Los Alamos Arts Council’s Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Los Alamos Middle School. The teams are working to raise funds to support the Adopt-A-Family program during the holidays.
Nominate a Living Treasure
Nominations for new honorees of the Living Treasures of Los Alamos are open until Nov. 30. Send written nominations to Living Treasures of Los Alamos, Inc. P.O. Box 1065.
Nominations should include information detailing how the nominee has benefited the community. Only a few of the candidates can be honored at each ceremony but everyone nominated remains eligible for future selections.
Enjoy Parent’s Time Out
The Los Alamos County Recreation Division presents a great program, Parent’s Time Out. Parents enjoy some time alone while the recreation staff entertains children age 5 – 12, from 4-9 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.
Swimming, movie, games, crafts and pizza with a beverage all for a low cost of $15 for the first child and $7 for each additional child in the same family. Reserve a spot now.
