Isaac Scarborough, a 2002, graduate of Los Alamos High School, has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Kazakhstan for the 2010-2011 year. Scarborough’s research focus will be Stalin’s mass relocation of people from Russia to Central Asia in the 1930s. After graduating from LAHS, Scarborough graduated from New York University with a double major in political science and philosophy. He then served in the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan, worked for the American Councils for International Education in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, organized a conference for the Turkmenistan Youth and Civic Values Organization in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and most recently successfully completed the U.S. State Department Flagship Russian Language Program in St. Petersburg, Russia. This summer he will again work for the American Councils for International Education in Moscow, Russia. Scarborough is the son of Lysa and Tom Intrator of Los Alamos and John Scarborough of Madison, Wis.
