Registration for Girl Scouts will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the White Rock Baptist Church (80 SR 4). Girls of all ages from White Rock and Los Alamos are invited to find out about GSUSA and register for a troop. The Authors Speaks Series presents Shirley Raye Redmond at 7 p.m. in the upstairs rotunda at the Mesa Public Library.
There will be a Democratic Party meeting from 7-8:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room of the Mesa Public Library to plan for upcoming elections. All Democrats welcome to attend.
Richard McCombs, a tutor at St. John’s College in Santa Fe will give a lecture at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall, Peterson Student Center, St. John’s College. The lecture will focus on an introduction to the reading of Kierkegaard. The event is free.
The annual Fiesta at Bandelier National Monument is sponsored by PEEC and Bandelier. The fiesta is free and there is no admission charge to Bandelier. Enjoy lots of nature activities including cider making, the Migration Challenge, live birds of prey, making corn-husk dolls, hanging a bear bag, launching an atlatl, solar-baked cookies, fall fiesta mural-making and a scavenger hunt.

“Songs and Arias: Baroque to Modern,” an evening concert by Emily Werne, soprano; David Bolotin, pianist; and Christine Chen, violinist, will be at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall, Peterson Student Center, St. John’s College, Santa Fe. The event is free.

Agatha Christie, noted author of murder mystery novels and plays, has been honored this month in Great Britain and elsewhere on the 120th anniversary of her birth. The Los Alamos Little Theatre will pay its homage with auditions for the Christie play, “Go Back for Murder,” scheduled for 7:15 p.m., 2 p.m. Oct. 3 and 7:15 p.m. Oct. 4 at the theatre, 1670 Nectar Street. The play will open New Year’s Eve and have its LALT run in January.
