The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will benefit United Way of Northern New Mexico. Los Alamos Golf Course members pay $60 to play, non-members play $90, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart, breakfast by Ruby K’s, a catered lunch by private chef Jarda Belmonte, a drink ticket and may prizes. The Los Alamos High School Hilltalkers Speech and Debate team will hold a waffle breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Pajarito Masonic Lodge. A full breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and toppings will be served. The funds will help defray the costs of transportation and attending tournaments for the upcoming year.
Silver Threads Senior Market Art Show will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the White Rock Senior Center.
The Little Forest Playschool’s 24th annual Fall Fiesta will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Little Forest Playschool campus at 3880 Villa Street in Los Alamos.
The United Way will host “Taste the Sky” from 4-7 p.m. at the County Airport. A barbecue dinner will be served, with ice cream for dessert. The event is sponsored by the Fabulous 50’s Diner and Los Alamos County. Tickets are $20 for adults and$15 for children. For reservations or more information call 662-0800.
The Santa Fe Renaissance Fair will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. today and Sunday at El Rancho de las Golondrinas Living History Museum, south of Santa Fe at 334 Los Pinos Road. I - 25 Exit 276. Follow the “Las Golondrinas” signs. Adults: $8, seniors and teens: $5, children (5-12): $3, under 5 free.
Pianist Juanita Madland will perform works by Chopin and Bach at 7 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. Tickets, $20 each, can be purchased at CB Fox. A reception will follow. This is a benefit concert for the Los Alamos Arts Council. Call 663-0477 for more information.
The 6th Annual Outdoor Concert for the Birds will be at 3 p.m. at the Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge. The event will feature New Mexico folksinger and storyteller Roberto Mondragon. “That’s Entertainment,” a variety show performed by seniors, will be at 2 p.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.
The Los Alamos Garden Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2390 N. Road. Alice Mann will present a demo/workshop of a chrysanthemum Ikebana arrangement. The Santa Fe Christian Women’s Club will meet at noon for a picnic luncheon at the Franklin E. Miles Park on Camino Carlos Rey and Siringo.
