Home Tour a Big Success

Family Strengths Network wishes to thank the community for a very successful fundraising event, the Los Alamos Home Tour 2010.
First we’d like to thank the six homeowners who donated the use of their homes, Jim and Kate O’Donnell, Rob Eaton, Aimee Hungerford and Chris Fryer, Jackie and Leonard Beebe, Sally and Joe Fitzgibbon and John and Minji Park.
Our sponsors for the event were Los Alamos National Bank, Bella Cosa Flowers, Archaeo Architects, RE/MAX, Real Estate Associates, The Finishing Touch, The Los Alamos Monitor,  TRK Management, Bruce Norman, Devorah Gavron and Don Taylor.
Thanks also to the 58 businesses and individuals who donated to the silent auction and the 47 volunteers who helped staff homes and the Fuller Lodge.
Special thanks to House Captains Kelly Myers, Kendra Henning, Lauren Earles, Cheryl Pongratz and Janet Van Cleave. Also thanks to Fuller Lodge Art Center, Los Alamos Historic Society and Brownell’s Hallmark.
More than 250 people attended the Home Tour and enjoyed the beautiful homes, scenic views and generous hospitality of our community in support of Family Strengths Network.

Thanks from LAAC

The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) would like to thank the fabulous musicians who performed at the Summertime Coffeehouse at Fuller Lodge. They include Kay Newnam, Nancy Andrew, Rosalind Simpson and Martha Caplin. They played to a full house. The music was outstanding with a special piece devoted to the flute, during which the room was darkened and Richard Klamann gave a reading particular to the music being played.
The audience not only enjoyed music but a wonderful selection of desserts and coffee as well. The Arts Council committee worked diligently to provide a very special evening for those in attendance. Music students served desserts, coffee and tea and helped with the general cleanup after the event. We thank you all.
We invite the community to another great event. This Saturday, Juanita Madland, pianist, will play Bach and Chopin, at 7 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. Juanita is another outstanding local musician. Tickets can be purchased at CB Fox for $20 each. And we look forward to the Valentine Coffeehouse in February 2011.
