The following restaurant inspection reports were provided by the New Mexico Environment Department. 

 

Santa Fe

 

Carlos Gilbert Elementary, 300 Griffin

Date inspected: Aug. 29

Violations: Four high-risk violations, two for contaminated equipment — sanitizer in buckets and three-compartment sink at 0 ppm. Corrected, re-mixed, tested at 200 ppm; no hot water in sanitizing test kit. One violation for poor personal hygiene — no trashcan near wash area hand sink. One violation for other — sneeze guard not adequate for school children. Inadequate for food protection on display for service. Three low-risk violations, one for contaminated equipment — inadequate space to work at front three-compartment sink. Replace shelves with narrower, shallow ones. Two violations for floors/walls/ceilings — restroom door not self-closing; one ceiling tile missing above three-compartment sink.

Status of establishment: Approved, no follow-up required.

 

Econo Lodge, 3470 Cerrillos Road

Date inspected: Aug. 29

Violations: Three high-risk violations, two for improper holding — refrigerator holding foods at 50 degrees; milk at 50 degrees, yogurt at 55 degrees, corrected. Items destroyed. One for poor personal hygiene — no paper towels at hand sink. Faucet head leaks/sprays. Corrected. One moderate-risk violation for improper holding — ambient thermometer in refrigerator is broken. Five low-risk violations, one for administration — permit not posted in conspicuous place; two for floors/walls/ceilings — base coring missing in wash area and behind refrigerator in dry storage; holes in cabinet walls and ceilings must be covered. One for storage — single-serve articles, plates, bowls, saucers, held not protected from consumer. Two for floors/walls/ceilings — base coring missing in wash area and behind refrigerator in dry storage. One for ventilation/lighting — excessive heat in dry storage room with refrigerator.

Horseman’s Haven, 4354 Cerrillos Road

Date inspected: Aug. 29, complaint

Violations: Two high-risk violations for unsafe sources — Improperly thawing ground beef in non-running water. Beans were at 102 degrees; tomatoes were at 58 degrees; eggs were at  58 degrees; potatoes were at 76 degrees; green chile was at 140 degrees. 

Status of establishment: Approved, follow-up Aug. 31.

 

Plaza Bakery, 56 E. San Francisco St.

Date inspected: Aug. 29

Violations: Two high-risk violations, one for poor personal hygiene — there was no soap in the hand sink in back kitchen. One for storage — frozen chicken was stored with ice cream containers in walk-in cooler. Corrected. Four moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — thermometer was not available for the walk-in cooler. Corrected. Two for contaminated equipment — bulk food container surfaces are filthy. Clean and label. Facility was told to close down and they did. Bakery, food items like sandwiches not operating until reinspected; no chlorine test strips were available. One violation for plumbing/waste disposal — trash containers stored in basement area are stinking. Three low-risk violations, two for floors/walls/ceilings — the women’s restroom sink hot water is not working. Fix. Cannot sell coffee or drinks; all the kitchen floors are filthy. Some areas have standing water in them. One violation for storage — dried food items were stored on the floor in dry storage areas. Sugar cone boxes and plastic disposable cup boxes.

Status of establishment: Voluntary closure.

 

Plaza Bakery, 56 E. San Franciso St.

Date inspected: Aug. 30, follow-up

Violations: Three low-risk violations, two for floors/walls/ceilings — The women’s restroom hot water faucet is still not fixed. In the process of being fixed by a plumber this weekend; the walls in some kitchen areas are peeling. Seal; wall by three-compartment sink is loose and stained. Fix.

Notes: Soap  has been provided for hand sink in back area. Paper towels have been provided for this sink. The basement, former bakery area has been cleaned and labeled. Cutting boards have been cleaned. All items have been lifted off the floor in the walk-in cooler and the dry storage areas. 

Status of establishment: Approved, follow-up Sept. 30.

 

Plaza Bakery, processor bakery, 56 E. San Francisco St.

Date inspected: Aug. 30, closing

 Status of establishment: Closed, no longer processing, only foodservice.
