Learn about snowkiting
David Cole, 47, of Albuquerque will share information about the new sport of snowkiting at the Los Alamos Mountaineers meeting. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the main room of Fuller Lodge, with dessert and social time at 7:30 p.m. today, followed by a discussion of trips past and future. The presentation will begin at approximately 8 p.m.
Poetry Potluck Open Mike
Mesa Public Library Authors Speak Series will hold a Poetry Potluck Open Mike Event featuring Matt Donovan at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Guitars and Gateaux
Los Alamos Arts Council Guitars and Gateaux series will feature classical guitarist Daniel Weston at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fuller Lodge. Desserts and beverages will be served at 7 p.m., music begins at 7:30 p.m.
SWEEP (Sun and Wind Encompassing Educational Program) Showcase will be held from 5:30-
7 p.m. Thursday at the Los Alamos Middle School. The program will include student presentations, poster presentations, solar car demonstrations, wind turbine demonstrations, a slide show and refreshments.
Become a Cub Scout
Boys currently in kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to visit the local fire station to join Cub Scouting. Boys can have fun with a tour of the station, including the fire prevention trailer, while parents register them as Cub Scouts. Registration will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at White Rock Fire Station no.4. Registration fees are $18 through 2010. Parents can make checks to: GSWC-BSA. Village Arts ribbon cutting
The Chamber is hosting a ribbon cutting at 6 p.m. Friday at Village Arts on DP Roads as part of the Spring Art Stroll.
