Pruning workshop

  The public is invited to the Annual Los Alamos Rose Garden Pruning Workshop to learn about growing roses in Los Alamos and White Rock. Lee Builta, a long time Los Alamos Master Gardener, will conduct the workshop, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Los Alamos Memorial Rose Garden near Fuller Lodge. In case of inclement weather, the workshop will be held in the Nambé Room at Fuller Lodge.

Dog Jog Saturday

  The Dog Jog will open with check-in from 8-

8:40 a.m. Saturday at Chamisa Elementary School. Runners can either participate in the 3.1-mile run or the 2-mile course. Entry fees are $20 per adult or child age 12 or older. The fee is $5 for each first and second child age 11 or younger and additional children age 11 or younger will be admitted for free. The event is a fundraiser for the Los Alamos Friends of the Shelter. For more information call 672-2089.

Heart to Heart High Tea

  Heart to Heart High Tea will be held from 1:30-

3:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Mothers, daughters, sisters and girl friends are invited to take part in a formal high tea, which will include gourmet teas and treats. The fee is $12 per person. For more information, call Annette Russelll at 662-3313 or Jennifer Oliver at 412-9757.

LWV meeting

  League of Women Voters will hold its annual meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church. Following a business meeting and potluck luncheon, Marcy Leavitt, director of the Water and Wastewater Division, NMED will speak at 12:30 p.m. about water quality issues around the state and especially in Los Alamos.  The public is welcome to attend the talk.

Arts and crafts fair

  Chamisa Elementary School PTO will host an arts and crafts fair from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the school.
