April 1

12:22 a.m. – Three Los Alamos girls ages 14, 15 and 16 were charged with Minor In Possession (MIP) of alcohol at 1399 Diamond Dr. following an investigation into suspicious activity around the convenience store near Sandia. The girls were referred to the juvenile probation officer and released to their parents.

1:33 a.m. – Los Alamos firefighters extinguished burning trees and brush across from Royal Crest Mobile Home Park on East Jemez Road suspected of being started by bottle rockets or other fireworks.

April 2

1 a.m. – Three Los Alamos men were arrested while reportedly attempting to enter the trunk of a parked vehicle near 49th Street and Trinity Drive. Christopher Fincke, 19, and Anthony Crandall, 20, were charged with assault upon a peace officer and Andrew Garsik, 21, was charged with possession of marijuana.   

1:06 p.m. – A 47-year-old Los Alamo man reported the fraudulent use of his credit card. The estimated loss is $79.98.

8:12 p.m. – Jose Varela Romero, 21, of Espanola was arrested on an outstanding warrant and released when the warrant was satisfied.

 April 3

8:52 a.m. – A 63-year-old White Rock man reported someone scratched the paint on his vehicle. The estimated loss is $600.

9:14 a.m. – A 54-year-old White Rock man reported someone damaged his motion sensor light fixture. The estimated loss is $50.00.

1:20 p.m. – Pajarito Ski Area reported five subjects rode the ski lift without lift tickets. All five were issued orders of no trespassing. The estimated loss is $195.

April 5

6:32 a.m. – Rudy Montaño, 54, of Velarde was arrested following a traffic stop near McDonald’s on Trinity Drive. He was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license based on a DWI. Montaño also was required to have an ignition interlock device in his vehicle, which he did not, according to the police report.

8:13 a.m. – The Barranca Mesa Elementary School principal reported that several windows and light fixtures were broken and there was paintball damage to the school’s portable buildings sometime during spring break. The estimated loss is $250.

9:45 a.m. – A 32-year-old Los Alamos man reported someone cut a hole in the security fence surrounding the storage lot behind Royal Crest Mobile Home Park and drove away in his ATV. An attempt to steal a second ATV was averted by apparent mechanical problems rendering it inoperable, according to the police report. The estimated loss is $2,500.


12:55 p.m. – A 17-year-old Los Alamos boy was charged with battery on a household member and referred to the juvenile probation officer.

April 6

5:16 p.m. – A 55-year-old Los Alamos man reported that someone had entered his home while he was away. It was later learned that the person in his residence had been his son.
