There’s still time for skiing

  Skiers, remember those years when there was hardly any snow? Well, that is not the case this year. As a result, the management at Pajarito Mountain ski area decided to keep the mountain open until April 4. However, the area is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday.


L.A. Master Gardeners

  Los Alamos Master Gardeners’ will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the White Rock Town Hall. Archeologists from Bandelier National Monument, Rory Gauthier and Jamie Civitello, will speak during the meeting about the Pueblo farming techniques and the historic gardeners in Frijoles Canyon.


Brown Bag Series

  Los Alamos Arts Council’s Brown Bag Performance Series presents a winds and strings performance featuring the works of Bruch and Mozart at 12:30 p.m. April 7 at Fuller Lodge.


Chapter BC, P.E.O. meeting

  Chapter BC, P.E.O. will meet at 9:30 a.m. April 8 at the home of Joanne Baty, 530 Paul Place in White Rock. Joanne Salzman will serve as the co-hostess. The program will be Introduction of the Yearbook by Salzman. Call Salzman  at 672-9551 with questions or regrets.


Social dance

 Ballroom Etcetera will host a social dance at

7:30 p.m. April 9 at the Unitarian Church. Music will include Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Country and Western. A $3 donation per person is requested; no partner is required.


Dark night

  The Pajarito Astronomers will hold the first County-Sponsored Dark Night of the year at 7:30 p.m. April 10 at Spirio Soccer Field in Overlook Park. Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze. The planets Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn will be viewed. There will be a tour of the winter and spring constellations, and there will be telescope views of double stars, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
