A strange sort of love triangle

  Los Alamos Little Theater presents the romantic comedy “Sylvia” at 2 p.m. Sunday. This show contains adult language. Tickets cost $12 for general admission and $10 seniors and students and are available at CB Fox and at the door. For more information, call 662-5493.

Public briefing

  Los Alamos National Laboratory will hold a public briefing, “LANL Hazardous Waste Permit: National Security Impacts,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Los Alamos VFW post, 1793 Deacon Ave. Guests should use the east entrance.

Quilting Guild meeting

  The Los Alamos Piecemakers Quilting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the White Rock Baptist Church. Award-winning quiltmaker Jean Biddick of Tucson will present her lecture “Behind the Scenes.” Biddick is also an author and teacher whose specialty is creating stunning machine-pieced masterpieces.

Hearing talk

  Melissa Lyons from the Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons will present two topics from 10 a.m.- noon Tuesday at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. The presentation is geared toward people who have concerns related to hearing loss. She will speak on “Effective Communication” — tips and techniques for effective communication when someone is deaf or hard of hearing. Secondly, she will offer an introduction to hearing loss and assistive devices. All are welcome and the forum is free.  

Bighorn Sheep talk

  Elise Goldstein of the New Mexico Game and Fish will tell about the reintroduction of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep to the state at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center. It is family-friendly, free and open to the public. For more information, call  662-0460.
