The Los Alamos Geological Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the Christian Church, 92 East Road. Tom Betts, chief ranger of Bandelier National Monument, will give a talk titled, “Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve.”
The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce announced it will present a “Discovery Dialogue” from 4:30-
6 p.m. today at Fuller Lodge on the topic of Los Alamos National Laboratory’s hazardous waste permit. The speaker will be Tony Grieggs, manager of LANL’s Environmental Protection/ Resource Conservation and Recovery Act group.
The Military Order of World Wars will meet at
6 p.m. today in the Tsankawi room at the Best Western Hilltop House. There will be a regular business meeting and dinner. This month’s speaker will be Brad Lounsbury, a demolitions expert with Emergency Management and Response at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
La Leche League
La Leche League of Los Alamos will discuss “Networks of Support” at the monthly meeting at 7 p.m. today in the Teen Room at the First United Methodist Church.
All interested, pregnant or breastfeeding women are welcome to learn and share, through mother-to-mother support, the basics and benefits of breastfeeding. A lending library with books and audiotapes concerning childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting and nutrition is available. Nursing babies and toddlers who have difficulty separating are welcome.
