Winners to be announced
The Sierra Club will be introduced to the winners of the Sierra Club’s Environmental award. The winners will present their posters at 7 p.m. today at Mesa Public Library.

Lenten fish fry dinner
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Youth is hosting a Lenten fish fry dinner from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the IHM parish hall, 3700 Canyon Road. Besides the traditional fish, dinners will include coleslaw, rice pilaf, desserts and drinks. Tickets can be purchased from the IHM youth office by calling 661-8303 or at the door for $10 for an adult plate (two pieces of fish) or $5 for a child plate (one piece of fish). Raffle tickets to win themed Easter baskets will be for sale at all the fish fry dinners. The proceeds from the dinners will benefit Our Little Brothers and Sisters Orphanage in Honduras, Haitian earthquake relief through OLBS in Haiti and the World Youth Day pilgrimage to Madrid, Spain.
Enjoy some snowshoeing
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center is sponsoring a Free Starlight Snowshoe program. Participants can snowshoe, ski, or hike on their own at Camp May when they’re done, join PEEC at the shelter across from the amphitheater on the Camp May Road for a campfire and hot chocolate, available from 6-9 p.m. Saturday. Snowshoes can be rented from the County Recreation Division at the Aquatic Center for $5 a day. Call 662-8173 for details. The activity is free, but please register at PEEC by calling 662-0460 so we’ll know how much hot chocolate to provide.
