Enjoy a crab fest

  The Los Alamos Rotary Club will host a crab fest. at the Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church. A social hour and a cash bar will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person or $360 for a table of eight. The dinner will feature an all-you-can eat crab and prawn dinner as well as live and silent auctions. Peace, a local band, will provide live music. All the proceeds will benefit local scholarships.

Free talk Saturday

  The Pajarito Environmental Education Center is hosting “Aquariums as Ecosystems:  Free Talk and Pangaea Drawing” by Jennifer Macke from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at PEEC, located at 3540 Orange Street. Learn about safe ways to deal with algae and pests and to keep fish healthy. There will also be a chance to win a free aquarium from Pet Pangaea.  More information can be found at PajaritoEEC.org.

Peace Meal to perform

  Peace Meal will perform for two hours at the Pajarito Mountain Locals Fun Racing Event, which will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the ski lodge. Peace Meal will play a wide variety of music, with a focus on up-beat hits from rock, jazz, blues and pop genres. Plus there will microbrewery beer to enjoy from noon-5 p.m.

AAUW meeting

  The American Association University of Women will host a talk titled, “Growing Up Female in India,” during their regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 2 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The speakers are Selvi Viswanathan and Deepa Nadiga.
