Illustrated talk at PEEC

  “The Biggest Trees in Los Alamos,” an illustrated talk by Dorothy Hoard, will be presented at 7 p.m. today at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center, located at 3540 Orange St. This is another session in the Winter Wednesday series, the talk is free and open to the public.

Authors Speak Series

  Mesa Public Library Authors Speak Series presents Michael Hamilton Morgan at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library’s upstairs rotunda.

Talk and book signing

  Scientist, businessman and philanthropist George Cowan will talk about his new book, “Manhattan Project to the Santa Fe Institute” at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the Bradbury Science Museum, followed by a book signing next door at the Otowi Station Bookstore and Science Museum Shop.

Guitars and Gateaux

  Los Alamos Arts Council Guitars and Gateaux presents guitarist, Dr. Lynn McGraff at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fuller Lodge. Admission is $10 for LAAC members and $15 for nonmembers.

Empty Bowl open house

  KRSN will host an open house for the Empty Bowl Project, a fundraiser for Self Help, Inc. from 5:30-

7 p.m. Thursday at the radio station, located at 145 Central Park Square.

“Willie Wonka Jr.” Friday

  Atomic City Children’s Theater will perform “Willie Wonka Jr.” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Duane Smith Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.
