Look for your brochure

  Local residents will find an informational brochure featuring the Bradbury Science Museum and the Los Alamos Historical Museum enclosed in their utility bills with locations, opening and closing times, contact information and ongoing events. There’s  lots of things to do, see and learn.

Don’t miss “Firebird Suite”

  Los Alamos Community Winds will perform the “Firebird Suite” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the White Rock Baptist Church.

Celebrate senior night

  Celebrate the annual Los Alamos High School’s “Senior Night” at the last regular-season game at

7 p.m. Saturday at Griffith Gym. The seniors being honored this year are Alex Kirk, Austin Wolstein, Garrett Newell, Kirk Webber, manager Tyler Pientka, Wade Archuleta and Zach Parks, as well as senior cheerleader Carolina Saenz. The event will commence with the introduction of the seniors and their parents immediately before the Varsity game.

Animal tracks in the snow

   “Animal Tracks in the Snow,” an outdoor adventure for families with the Pajarito Environmental Education Center educator Amy Roberts, runs from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday. Meet at PEEC and scout for signs and tracks of animals big and small. To register, call PEEC at 662-0460, visit www.pajaritoeec.org, or go to 3540 Orange St. The center is open from noon-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. The fee is $18 for member families or $20 for non-member families, which is up to four people.

MOWW meeting

  The Military Order of the World Wars, Major General Franklin E. Miles Chapter 229 will feature Los Alamos Fire Department Chief Doug Tucker during its meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Best Western Hilltop House. The dinner meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with a social period followed by a short business meeting at 6:25 p.m. Tucker’s talk will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. and will address “Future Direction for the LA Fire Department with Comments on the recent IG’s Report.”
