Police beat

Lecture tonight

  The Los Alamos Historical Society Lecture Series presents Fred Ribe at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church.

After school skating

  The Los Alamos Ice Rink will host an After School Valentine’s event from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Mom/son dance Wednesday

  The Mom/Son Dessert and Dance will be held from 6-8:30 p.m.

PEEC class rescheduled

  Genetic Diversity of Food Plants Through Time, a class taught by Martha Davis at Pajarito Environmental Education has been rescheduled and will be held from 7-

9 p.m.  Wednesday. The fee is $8 for PEEC members and $10 for non-members. Visit PajaritoEEC.org or call 662-0460 for more information.

Valentine’s celebration

  Los Alamos County will host a Valentine’s Celebration from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday for children age 3-13.

  The program is an afterschool kid-friendly event. Join in for skating and fun activities including funny hat relays, Hershey Kiss relays, Oreo stacking contests, guess the M&M’s and holiday themed crafts. Fees include skate rental; no passes can be used.  Fees are $6.50 for ages 5 and older, $2.50 for ages 4 and younger. Contact the Ice Rink at 662-4500 for additional information.

WRCMP meeting Thursday

  A meeting from 5:30-

7 p.m. Thursday at the White Rock Fire Station will review the top two options developed for the White Rock Visitors Center, RV Parking and Transit/Transfer Hub. This project is part of the White Rock Center Master Plan/Economic Development strategy approved by Council in June of 2008.
