Copenhagen conference

  Ken Hughes will present “The Copenhagen Climate Change Conference,” during the Sierra Club meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the upstairs meeting Rooms at Mesa Public Library.   

  Sometimes it seems concerns for economic survival trump concerns for planetary survival. To reinvigorate the discussion about climate change, the Pajarito Group of the Sierra Club will host Sierra Club Chapter Conservation Chair Ken Hughes, one of the delegates to the Climate Change Conference, to report on the activities and outcome of the Conference.

“Big Night” screening

  Mesa Public Library free film series will screen “Big Night,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the upstairs meeting rooms.

Don’t miss the ‘Topper Review

 ’Topper Review will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Duane Smith Auditorium.

Drawing to be held

  Mountain Engraving will hold a drawing for three gift certificates, one for $35, another for $15 and the third one for $5.  Sign up for the drawing from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The drawing will be held shortly after 4 p.m. Friday.

  Participants should register in person, but do not need to be present to win. Mountain Engraving is located in the Small Business Center, behind the Post Office, at 190 Central Park Square, Suite 111. In addition to the drawing prizes, the first 10 people to sign up will receive a free gift.

Miniature golf event

  Assets in Action presents the 19th Hole, an indoor miniature golf event from 10 a.m.-

2 p.m. Saturday residents can golf through local businesses to raise funds and awareness for the Assets program.

  The Best Western, Metzger’s, CB Fox, Visitor’s Center, YMCA, senior centers are participating in the program. The Banddelier Grill, Homerun Pizza in White Rock and White Rock Visitor’s Center. The fee to participate costs

$5 and proceeds will benefit Assets in Action.
