  The cover of Thursday’s Kaleidoscope stated that the Choral Society’s concert is to be held at 3 p.m. Saturday. Instead, the concert is scheduled to be held at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Converstaion with the artists

  The Art Center at Fuller Lodge invites the pubic to attend a Conversation with the Artists from 1- 2:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Art Center at Fuller Lodge. Four artists from the current exhibit, “Roots of Culture in Northern New Mexico,” Clare Villa, Secundino Sandoval and James Vigil, will discuss their lives and careers as residents in diverse and multi-cultural northern New Mexico communities.

LAGS annual banquet

  The Los Alamos Geological Society will host its annual banquet at 5:30 p.m.  Saturday at the Christian Church. Peter W. Lipman of the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo, Calif., will give a talk about “Enormous Explosive Eruptions in the Southern Rocky Mountains: Ignimbrite sheets, source calderas and relict magma chambers.

Boy Scouts to host banquet

  The Northern New Mexico District of the Boy Scouts of America will host a banquet to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the organization starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Pueblo Complex Gym, located at 1900 Diamond Drive. Advanced tickets are $15 per individual or $25 per couple and can be purchased by calling the field office at 505-500-4272. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $15 per person.

Enjoy some waffles

  The Los Alamos High School choirs, in conjunction with the Masonic Lodge, are hosting a Winter Waffle-fest from 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple, located at 15th Street and Canyon. The menu includes Belgian waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs and beverages. Tickets cost $6 for adults and $4 for children younger than age 18. The proceeds will benefit the LAHS Choir Booster Club.
