The following restaurant inspection reports were provided by the New Mexico Environment Department. 

 

Santa Fe

 

Allsup’s #336, 650 Cerrillos Road

Date inspected: Jan. 3

Violations: Two moderate-risk violations for contaminated equipment — inadequate dishwashing facility, no stoppers, no dish rack for clean dishes. Non-NSF hot dog warmer.

Chuck Higgins LLC, 847 Niñita St.

Date inspected: Jan. 3

Violations: None

Notes: All peanut butter destroyed, pursuant to Sunland peanut recall.

Cowden Café, 113 Lincoln Ave.

Date inspected: Jan. 3, closing

Status of establishment: Closed

 

El Tapatio, 1640 Hopewell 

Date inspected: Jan. 3

Violations: One high-risk violation for poor personal hygiene — no hot or cold water available at hand washing sink. Corrected. One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — improper three-step manual dishwashing process. Improper sanitizing solution.

Felipe’s Tacos, 1711 Llano St.

Date inspected: Jan. 3

Violations: Two moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — improper cold holding, guacamole at 48 degrees. One for contaminated equipment — improper dishwashing three-step process. One low-risk violation for ventilation/lighting — light not protected in dishwashing area.

Status of establishment: Approved, no follow-up required. 

 

Giant #6046, 2691 Sawmill Road

Date inspected: Jan. 4

Violations: One high-risk violation for contaminated equipment — wiping cloths in unsanitary condition. One moderate-risk violation for improper holding — inaccurate food thermometer. Needs to be calibrated.

The Nile Café, mobile unit

Date inspected: Jan. 2, closing

Status of establishment: Close file, cancel permit effective Jan. 2, per phone conversation with owner. Unit not operating, do not intend to operate daily. Permit has lapses in renewal, expired October 2012.

 

Patinas and Mescal Lounge

Date inspected: Jan. 3

Violations: Four high-risk violations, one for contaminated equipment — dishwasher PA on inside doors. One for poor personal hygiene — no paper towels at hand sinks in prep area and toilet rooms. Corrected. One violation for plumbing/waste — improper air gap or dishwasher, one-inch above floor required and QUAT tested with NMED kit. One violation for storage — cooler drain line not shielded, with food stored below. Four moderate-risk violations, two for contaminated equipment — no sanitizer test kit, water damaged, not testing; ware wash sink used for food prep. Food sink in prep area. One for poor personal hygiene — employee not using hand sink frequently. Need another hand sink near entry/exit point. Serves waiters, bussers. One for other — bread and salsa held unprotected. One low-risk violation for storage — equipment dishes not held covered or inverted.

Violations: One high-risk violation for poor personal hygiene — employee eating in prep area. Corrected. Employee instructed. One low-risk violation for storage — plastic forks held in cup with tines presented to handler. Single-serve articles must be protected from contamination. Store in cup with handles presented upward.

Violations: One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — not testing QUAT sanitizer properly. Read test kit instructions. One low-risk violation for floors/walls/ceilings — improper base coring in ware wash area and storage area.
